Norwegian Luna Overview

Norwegian Luna is one of Norwegian Cruise Line’s newest Prima-class ships, designed around upscale aesthetics, outdoor gathering spaces, modern entertainment, and a more refined onboard atmosphere than many older NCL vessels.

Unlike older megaships focused primarily on maximum passenger capacity, Norwegian Luna emphasizes open design, elevated dining, modern cabins, and a somewhat less crowded onboard experience.

Travelers researching Norwegian Luna often compare onboard atmosphere, itinerary quality, cabin layouts, entertainment style, and overall value before booking. Many travelers also compare Luna with Norwegian Aqua and Norwegian Prima when evaluating the latest Norwegian Cruise Line ships.

  • Couples seeking a modern cruise atmosphere
  • Travelers who prioritize outdoor deck space

Cabins & Staterooms

Norwegian Luna offers interior cabins, oceanview rooms, balcony staterooms, premium suites, and upgraded Haven accommodations.

Norwegian Luna vs Norwegian Aqua

Norwegian Luna and Norwegian Aqua are two of Norwegian Cruise Line's newest ships and share many design elements. Both focus on modern architecture, outdoor gathering spaces, upgraded dining, and a more premium onboard atmosphere.

Travelers comparing Norwegian's newest ships should also consider Norwegian Prima , which introduced the Prima-class design that later evolved into both Norwegian Luna and Norwegian Aqua.

Travelers seeking the newest attractions may prefer Norwegian Aqua because of the Aqua Slidecoaster and larger Prima Plus design. Travelers focused on itinerary, pricing, cabin selection, and availability may find Norwegian Luna offers comparable experiences depending on the sailing.

Comparing both ships before booking can help travelers determine which vessel offers the better overall value for their vacation goals.

Traveler Insights

Rating: ⭐⭐⭐

Favorite Part: The staff in the bars were so upbeat and friendly!

What Surprised Them: The pools are not well thought out and always very crowded. Waitstaff is not attentive and people were allowed to reserve lounge chairs that they never returned to occupy. It made finding v a spot to relax very difficult.

Advice: If you are a foodie this is not your cruise. If you are looking for pool time…might want to skip it too.

Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Favorite Part: The service was great everywhere, the Philapino crew did an amazing job at making you feel welcome.

What Surprised Them: We were surprised that both the paid French and Cagneys Steak house decor was soooo bland and didn’t match the theme at all. Green fabric chairs and bright lighting in a steak house???? Nope! The Le Bistro French restaurant looked dumb, you would never guess the theme is French….it was boring, food was fair. Whoever designed these restaurants has obviously never been to France or a real steak house. Very disappointing

Advice: The swimming pools are too small and crowded and the lounge chairs get filled up very quickly. If you like to hang out in a pool….go very early or take another ship.

Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Favorite Part: The rooms were very large and the bathrooms had an impressive amount of room. I really like that they are making some great accommodations for solo travelers like the solo loung.

What Surprised Them: The Spa is AMAZING! I could have spent an entire cruise down there!

Advice: Note: I was invited to tour the ship so didn't actually get to take a full cruise. The ship is beautiful and well laid out. The food was a little bland to be completely transparent.
