MSC has changed its beverage package lineup. Here is what travelers should know about the current packages, important rules, and how to decide whether buying one makes sense.
MSC Cruises currently markets Premium Extra as its alcoholic beverage package for new purchases in the U.S. market, alongside Alcohol-Free and Minors options. MSC states that Easy and Easy Plus are no longer available for new purchase; guests who added one of those packages before December 18, 2024 may still have it honored on an eligible upcoming sailing.
Premium Extra covers a broad range of specialty coffees and teas, soft and energy drinks, juices, smoothies and protein shakes, water, non-alcoholic beverages, beer, premium wine and sparkling wine by the glass, premium spirits, liqueurs, cocktails and mixed drinks. MSC says beverage gratuities are included.
MSC currently limits guests using Premium Extra to 15 alcoholic drinks per day. Drink selections can vary by ship, destination, and season.
MSC lists Premium Extra as usable at selected bars, buffets, main restaurants, specialty restaurants, and its private-island destinations. That specialty-restaurant inclusion is worth remembering when comparing the beverage package with a specialty dining purchase.
MSC also offers packages aimed at guests who do not drink alcohol and younger travelers. Exact beverage selections and eligibility can vary, so confirm the package shown for your specific reservation rather than assuming every sailing has identical offerings.
Do the same calculation we recommend for every cruise line: estimate what you would realistically drink without a package, then compare that amount with the full package cost. Do not count beverages you would never have bought separately as "savings."

Tell us when you want to travel, where you'd like to go, and what matters most to you. We'll help identify cruise options that fit your dates, budget, travel style, and cabin preferences. Not sure which cruise line, ship, or itinerary you want? That's completely fine — many travelers start with nothing more than available vacation dates, a departure port, or a general idea of where they'd like to go.
Only know your available dates? That's enough to get started. You can also review our Find a Cruise by Date Guide to see how we narrow cruise options around a fixed vacation window.
